CD REVIEW: DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEASURES by NASTY HABIT
DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEASURES by Nasty Habit
(Independent Release)
The five song Ep, 'Desperate Times Desperate Measures' by Nasty Habit from Syracuse, NY, is a very refreshing injection of melodic hard rock music at its best. Nasty Habit is, Tommy Ende on lead vocals, Kenny Ende on guitars/vocals, Frank Wheeler on bass/vocals and David Jordan on drums/vocals. The band exhibits great lyrical and instrumental composition! Tommy Ende's vocals are rock solid. Rough enough to ride the jagged edge of heavy metal, but yet, well refined during tracks like "Heartless". And harmony! My god! The WHOLE band is able to contribute their vocal artistry on many of the songs contained within. The other tracks on the album are, the bump and grind swagger of the very catchy ,"Dancin' On My Tongue", with Kenny Ende' s muscular guitar riffs giving the song a serious bite! The rhythm section of, Frank Wheeler and David Jordan have great chemistry that can be heard on the groove laden rocker, "Goodbye". The shot of adrenaline that is, "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Heaven's Gate" that is a flat rocker that closes the album with a bang! The whole band have such great chemistry. The music is awesome. The songs are very well written. The melodic hard rock groove they produce is almost hypnotic and very sexual. I now have an adequate defense against the claims that that harmony is dead in today's modern music. 'Desperate Times Desperate Measures' isn't an album full of Journey wanna-be ballads. This is a kick in the teeth melodic hard rock album. It will immerse you in rhythm , groove and attitude, and will put a thump in the chest! If your into hard-hitting melodic hard rock, 'Desperate Times Desperate Measures' by Nasty Habit is definitely worth checking out! Prepare to get ROCKED! - Highly Recommended
