CD REVIEW: THE FAITH & PATIENCE by ELECTRIC RIVER
THE FAITH & PATIENCE by Electric River
(The Cadiz Recording Co.)
If Social Distortion hooked up with Gaslight Anthem and invited over the Kings of Leon where they jammed out to Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty songs all night, you just might have an idea of what you're going to hear when you drop the needle on 'The Faith & Patience' the latest release from UK rockers Electric River from the UK. The band is made up of, Will Whisson on guitar and vocals, Chris Aldis a on guitar, Sponge on bass and vocals and Alex Mayland on drums. 'The Faith & Patience' is a album made of songs you would hear the band play in some bar and get lost in the sway of the music with some other aimless soul or just get lost riding into the lonely nights with a pack of cigarettes and a half tank of gas. From the very moment, "Calling Out" kicks in, you know you are in for something special. The next two songs, "Chorus Of Fire" and "Keep The Engine Burning" only help to further that notion, and by The time you finish listening to the nine remaining tracks you know you've just listened to one amazing and powerful album. 'The Faith & Patience' is one of those unique albums where you feel sort of torn. One part of you wants to call up everyone you know and tell them to go and buy it. Another part of you wants to keep it for yourself. In the end, this is a album that you can enjoy by yourself driving down the highway with the windows down, or with a car full of friends singing along at the top of your lungs down that very same road. That's what makes records like 'The Faith & Patience' so special. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. - Highly Recommended
