CD REVIEW: SWEET SALVATION by THE LAST VEGAS
SWEET SALVATION by The Last Vegas
(Ils Int'L /Pgd)
Chi-town rockers, The Last Vegas are back with their latest release, 'Sweet Salvation', the band's fifth studio recording. Chad Cherry (vocals), Adam Arling (guitar), Iohnny Wator (gutiar), Danny Smash (bass) and Nate Arling (drums). Recorded in Los Angeles by renowned producer and engineer Roy Z. 'Sweet Salvation' finds The Last Vegas taking the next step in the evolution of their take on the Sunset Strip sleaze rock sound of the late 80's/early 90's. The songs on this record are all well-written and catchy, and they keep the adrenaline pumping at an all-time high throughout the enitire record as well. The highlights of this record are hard to point out due to the fact that every song is quite amazing. If I had to pick though, these songs would be my favorites, "Touch the Sky", " Invincible Summer", "Miss You", "Face In The Crowd" and "Sweet Salvation". Hats off to Roy Z., who did an amazing job in the production department. There are a lot of great new bands in this sleaze rock revival (Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstar, H.E.A.T and Reckless Love come to mind), but The Last Vegas is still the standard the rest are judged by, and once again they come out on top. If you're a fan of high octane balls to wall rock - whether it's the new breed or the `80s Hollywood rockers - you'll want to get your hands on 'Sweet Salvation'. - Highly Recommended
