CD REVIEW: ABOUT TIME by Horisont

ABOUT TIME by Horisont
(Century Music)

Swedish based rockers, Horisont are back with their latest release, 'About Time'. For those new to the band, they formed in 2006, Horisont spent close to a decade kicking ass, taking names and establishing themselves at the forefront of the Scandinavian retro rock revival. Axel on vocals, Charles on guitar,  David on guitar, Magnus on bass and Pontus drums.  This is a band that wear their musical influences on their sleeves. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, and Uriah Heep. While they may channel these influences, Horisont bring their own flavor to the table. This album rocks, from beginning to end, highlights include, "Electrical", "Without Warning", "Night Line", "Point Of Return"and Lizzy tinged, "Hungry Love". The production quality is good but not sterile, and the songs flow into each other well. 'About Time' 'is of a similar ilk with the classic rock throwback to their previous work, comprising of speaker busting guitar riffs and earthy vocals. This album is infectious. It seeps into your bones, creeps into your brain, shakes you thoroughly and just takes you to a separate world of their making. It's classic stuff, and anyone with an interest in this genre of music should give Horisont a listen. 'About Time' is a must have whether you are a longtime fan or somebody looking for a great hard rock band to sink your teeth into. Highly Recommended
