CD REVIEW: EDGE OF FREE by Edge Of Free

EDGE OF FREE by Edge Of Free
(Digitally Sound Records)

What a refreshing change of pace to hear the self titled debut release from the acoustic rock duo, Edge Of Free. Scott Sneddon on vocals and John Hussey on guitar. The duo serve up a musical vibe that is a combination of acoustic heavy guitars laced with lyrics that are both melodic and powerful. Hats off to Toby Wright (Alice In Chains/Tantric) for a great job in the production department for capturing and truly memorable listening experience. This is an album that begs for your undivided attention while listening to it. You need to put on your best pair of headphones or break out your stereo system and bring out the full dynamic quality of each song. All eight songs presented here are powerful. Each so different yet flows so well with the next, and I can honestly say there is not one song on this album that can be ignored. Highlights include, "Blood Eagle" the lead off single, "Pony", "Higher" and "Pushin' The Needle". The blend of electric and acoustic guitars are awesome. The chemistry of Scott Sneddon's powerfully  vocals and John Hussey stellar musicianship are like hand in glove. Presenting a deep and emotive musical soundscape of songs about addiction, love and survival. This debut outing for Edge Of Free isn't your run of the mill, background noise recording. This music makes you stop and listen.   Highly Recommended
